West Pennines

Oldham and Rochdale are towns in Greater Manchester and lie amid the Pennines. Oldham is situated on elevated ground between the rivers Irk and Medlock and Rochdale lies amongst the foothills of the River Roch.

The West Pennines are rich in history and rose to prominence in the early 19th century as an international centre of textile manufacture during the Industrial Revolution however today the district is a predominantly residential area.
