Miller Metcalfe Blackburn
Welcome to Blackburn
Famous for its cotton industry, Blackburn is benefiting from major regeneration with significant improvements made over the last 15 years. Having reinvented itself as a thriving, modern, multi-cultural town, and drawing on its fascinating industrial heritage. The town is set in the heart of beautiful Pennine Lancashire, surrounded by hills, valleys and rolling English countryside. It's only a few short miles from the bustling town centre to the peace and tranquillity of the West Pennine Moors with its dramatic moorland, hidden valleys and numerous reservoirs.
Walkers can climb up to Darwen Tower, a Victorian monument erected to celebrate Queen Victoria's Golden Jubilee, or stride over to the pretty market town of Darwen, Blackburn's closest neighbour. The unspoilt natural beauty of the Forest of Bowland, Pendle Hill, with its tales of witchcraft and strange folklore, and the stunning Ribble Estuary are all nearby, while the thriving new city of Preston is just ten miles away and cosmopolitan Manchester is a mere 20 miles to the south.
