Miller Metcalfe’s Mpeople are gearing up to take part in a charity bike ride on Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th June. The fun route along the beautiful Liverpool to Leeds canal is approximately 126 miles long and we will split this distance between two days. This is a fantastic opportunity to raise much needed funds as well as having a laugh and achieving something on a personal level. We are aiming to raise around £5,000 for two great charities, Mummy’s Star and Kidneys for Life.

Based at Manchester Royal Infirmary, Kidneys for Life supports kidney patients, adults and children, throughout Greater Manchester. The charity also fund prime level research projects based within MRI, currently focussing on early detection of kidney disease, improving dialysis and transplantation treatments and prolonging the life of a transplanted kidney. There is no cure for kidney disease making Kidneys for Life a small charity with a HUGE need.

Mummy’s Star is the only UK charity dedicated to women and their families affected by cancer during pregnancy. The charity’s aim is to support pregnancy through cancer and beyond. More specifically the charity focuses on supporting women and families where a woman is diagnosed or treated for cancer during her pregnancy, a woman is diagnosed or treated for cancer within a year of her giving birth, a family in the first year of a birth lose their female partner as a result of cancer.

The Mpeople taking part in this fundraising event are:

John Fletcher, Jan Fletcher, Sherriffa Ahmed, Sherrie Maycroft, Rob Cunliffe, Alex Heptonstall, Luke Elston, Neil Williams, Jack Hinds, Jordan Ball, Ian Gallery, Richard Court, Anna Court & Danielle Thompson

This is a wonderful opportunity to support these great charities so please donate generously.

Through Virgin Money Giving, you can sponsor us and donations will be quickly processed and passed to charities. Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid on a charity's behalf where the donor is eligible for this. We really appreciate all your support and thank you for any donations.

Miller Metcalfe recently hosted a Christmas competition for children across North West. Encouraging students aged 4 to 11 from over 50 schools to design a new ‘For Sale’ board with a Christmas twist.

From all of the entries received, Miller Metcalfe’s Executive Chairman John Fletcher picked the lucky winners from each area. The overall prize was awarded to Maja Bochajczyk from Sacred Heart Catholic Primary School in Leigh. John Fletcher said “I loved her creative Christmas design and the fact she thought outside the box by using different materials”.

The Miller Metcalfe team visited Sacred Heart Catholic Primary School on the 4th of December to present Maja with her certificate and prize. Miss Wells, Maja’s teacher commented that she was so proud of Maja for all of her hard work and was thrilled that a student from Sacred Heart had won.

Everyone had a great time taking part in the competition and Miller Metcalfe had an equally fun time hosting it.

Each year, the team help the children of Bolton Lads and Girls Club to have a Christmas to remember, and this year is no different. Their team of ‘Mpeople’ have clubbed together to provide gifts for underprivileged youngsters in Bolton.

Jessica Hadcroft-Plummer from BLGC said “On behalf of the Club, I wanted to say a huge thank you to all the staff at Miller Metcalfe for all the support and effort that has been put into collecting Christmas presents for our Mentoring Christmas party. We really appreciate all your hard work, thank you.

Once again our young members will be blown away this year with their gifts and I know they will be well received. With many of our young people, the present they receive will be the only present they receive this year, which makes your gifts even more special.”

Miller Metcalfe has also confirmed they are a drop off point for Key 103’s Mission Christmas campaign. Key 103 and Cash For Kids help disabled and disadvantaged children across greater Manchester and ensure they receive a little Christmas magic.

Members of the public supporting Key 103’s Mission Christmas can now drop off unwrapped gifts at any one of their 7 branches; Bolton, Bury, Chorley, Culcheth, Harwood, Hindley or Worsley. Any gifts no matter how big or small, for girls or boys aged 0-18 will be a great contribution to the cause.
